In l978, Little Mountain Neighbourhood House (LMNH) opened its doors in a local storefront. A group of committed volunteers and three staff members began the challenging task of identifying and responding to a spectrum of local, regional and national issues as they were then experienced by residents of the Little Mountain neighbourhood. Like all neighbourhood houses, they were then, and still are, a grass roots organization. LMNH remains an active community hub that provides inclusive programming for children, families, youth, immigrants, and seniors living in and around the Little Mountain/Riley Park neighbourhood of Vancouver.
To connect, engage and empower community members to create a vibrant, inclusive, healthy and caring neighbourhood.
To develop and facilitate social, educational, cultural and recreational programs and initiatives that strengthen neighbourhood life for a diverse group of community members.
The Project House team has partnered with LMNH on a variety of projects on a volunteer basis, including Performance review and feedback materials, an Orientation Manual update, an Office Revamp, Paperless Office training, and ongoing general HR and operational support.
